What qualities to look in a person for marriage?
Prophet (PBUH) said: "If someone comes to you whose religion and character pleases you, then marry him." {Sunan al-Tirmidhi (1084)}
With the above saying of Prophet (PBUH) it becomes clear that, you should choose a spouse, who is rich in deen and character.
Choose someone who is God fearing because if he is God fearing he/she will never hurt you.
Why a good character?
"There is nothing heavier in the scales than good Character." Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
With this hadith we can come to know how important character is. First priority should be religion and character while choosing a spouse. Money doesn't have a constant stage it comes and goes, and beauty doesn't last forever, it fades away with time. What lasts is character, it is character for what people are recognized not wealth, family status etc.
Deen, faith, iman and character are the core things to look in a person when you intend to get married.
If he hasn't got imaan he ain't fit to be your man, if she does not have deen she ain't fit to be your queen.
