Duties of a wife.

It is necessary for a wife to treat her husband in the best manner, stand by his side firm, during ups and down, therefore appreciates the efforts of her husband, these are the small steps which can further strengthen the relationship and make it strong and unbreakable no matter what situation comes forth. Respect, love, obedience, sincerity and honesty are some kind of dutiful things the wife should show to her husband.

The prophet {S.A.W.S} said:

"This world is temporary joys, and the best temporary joy of this world is a righteous wife."

As with the above saying it becomes clear that, what a wife means to a man, so be dutiful, and surely you will be rewarded by the almighty for this.

Sayings of the prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.S) about his first wife Khadija (R.A):

She believed in me when no one else did;

She accepted Islam when people rejected me;

And she helped and comforted me when there was

No one else to lend me a helping hand.

This was the amount of respect, love and obedience Khadija (R.A) had for the Prophet.

Rights of wives over their husband’s.

Good treatment:

The best of Men are those who are best to their wives. - Prophet {S.A.W.S}

Husbands should treat their wives with utmost love and care, as women was made from the rib of a man. Not from his head to top him nor his foot to be stepped on by him, but from his side to be equal to him, under his arm to be protected by him, and near his heart to be loved by him.

To fulfill her needs

The husband should fulfill his wife's necessities, such as good house, food, clothes and care, and shouldn't fail in taking her responsibilities.

Mahr

The wife has the right to receive the mahr from her husband during the time of nikah, it is an obligation for husband to pay mahr to his wife.
