NIKAH CEREMONY

The following steps would be taken into consideration to perform a nikah

After selecting the right bride and groom and praying salat-al-istikhara.

1) Select the specific date on which you want to conduct nikah.

2) Decide the place where you prefer to conduct a nikah it would be home, mosque or at any preferred venue..

3) Search for an imam to perform nikah ceremony.

After the above steps the following procedure will take place to conduct a successful nikah.

Khutbah-tun-Nikah (The marriage sermon) starts by praising Allah. The head person of the sermon reads out the three verses from the holy Qur’an and one Hadith: "O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, who created you from a single person, and fear Allah through whom you demand your mutual rights. Do not cut relations of the womb. Surely, Allah is ever watching over you..

After this nikahnamah (marriage document) is signed, in which the representatives of groom's side offers mahr details in front of two witness of bride's side. Then the bride and groom accept the nikah by repeating qabul three times which means (I accept). After that the bride and groom and two male witnesses sign the nikahnamah (marriage contract) and here the marriage is completed according to the islamic law.

The nikah ceremony ends, with dua (prayer) for the bride and groom, their families and Muslim ummah.
